Avoid the Major Sins

If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise]. (Surat An-Nisā', 4:31)

SAFE SEX

A Young Man Came to the Muhammed (p.b.u.h) and said,

Muhammed (p.b.u.h) Give me permission to commit Zina (unlawful sex).”

Recorded by Imam Ahmad : Al-Tabarani

Allah will remove his sins as the leaves of a tree fall down

Narrated 'Abdullah (radiyallahu 'anhu): I visited the Prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam) during his ailments and he was suffering from a high fever. I said, "You have a high fever. Is it because you will have a double reward for it?" He (sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam) said, "Yes, for no Muslim is afflicted with any harm but that Allah will remove his sins as the leaves of a tree fall down." Bukhari : Book 7 : Volume 70 : Hadith 550

HE (ALLAH) WOULD REPLACE YOU

Abu Huraira (radiyallahu 'anhu) reported Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam) having said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them. Muslim : Book 37 : Hadith 6622

ALLAH'S FORGIVENESS (EXCEPT FOR MUSHRIK)

Abu Dharr (radi Allah anhu) reported Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alayhi wa salam) as saying that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, stated:" He who comes with goodness, there are in store for him ten like those and even more than those: 'And he who comes with vice, ' it is only for that that he is called to account. I even forgive him (as I like) and he who draws close to Me by the span of a palm I draw close to him by the cubit, and he who draws close to Me by the cubit I draw close to him by the space (covered) by two hands, and he who walks towards Me I rush towards him, and he who meets Me in the state that his sins fill the earth, but not associating anything with Me, I would meet Him with the same (vastness) of pardon (on My behalf)." [Sahih Muslim : Book 35 Kitab Al-Dhikr, Number 6499]

ALLAH THE FORGIVER

The Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhee was sallaam) reported that the devil said to God:"I shall continue to lead Thy servants astray as long as their spirits are in their bodies."And God replied: "(Then)I shall continue to pardon them as long as they ask My forgiveness."- At-Tirmidhi, Hadith 742

THE GREATEST SINS

Narrated Anas bin Malik (radi Allah anhu): Allah's Apostle (salallahu alayhi wasallam) mentioned the greatest sins or he was asked about the greatest sins. He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah; to kill a soul which Allah has forbidden to kill; and to be undutiful or unkind to one's parents." The Prophet added, "Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins? That is the forged statement or the false witness." Shu'ba (the sub-narrator) states that most probably the Prophet said, "the false witness." Bukhari : Book 8 : Volume 73 : Hadith 8
